Peter Mowbray is a self-published author of historical novels. He is an avid historian, and loves nothing more that delving deep into the lives of some of history's most controversial characters.
With no intention of ever writing novels, Peter has worked in administration throughout his life and is currently working for the NHS in England.
After obtaining a diploma in writing historical fiction, he ventured on the path of an amateur author and completed his first novel The Serpent of the Valois in 2013 and followed this up with The Second Jezebel in 2017. Both novels explore the middle to later life of Catherine de Medici.
His latest book the hermit of sant alberto is based around the life of Edward II of England and is published in 2024. The aim of his writing is not for financial and critical acclaim (as nice as that would be) but to narrate what he has learned and weave a tale based on his research and ultimately - to enjoy doing so!
In his spare time he loves reading and researching, drawing, gardening, cooking and even housework!!
He has two grown up sons and lives in a beautiful countryside hamlet in oxfordshire with his wife Sally and a rather excitable springer spaniel called Aster.
